Red Feathers
It's unfortunate that Cardinals are so shy. The bright red of the male and the more muted colors of the female are both quite photogenic but it's difficult to snap a picture before they fly away. I've only gotten a few non-blurred shots so far this Spring. Here's one in which the male is about to scoot...

This is a wonderful picture. What kind of camera do you use? I wish I could get some closeups of birds at my feeder, but I would have to get too close and they would fly away.

I grew up on Louisville so I love the pretty red cardinal!
I grew up in Louisville. You will like it there....it actually reminds me a lot of Raleigh. :)
