Hiding Heron

By mere luck I noticed this heron hiding amongst some small pines at the water's edge and caught a picture of him in hiding.

I paddled around the corner of the stream and was able to catch the lovely bird in profile. He's a lot easier to see that way. Plus I did zoom in on him a bit.

Stunning capture. Look at those vivid colors. Plus it's a terrific composition.
I'm here from Naquilitie's blog via "Nature Notes" meme.

Although, I used to read your blog a few years ago and when my computer crashed I lost links. So nice to have found you again! I cannot remember which name of my blog I had then or if you even remember visiting me now and then. (I'm an artist (who loves music- one blog had a music theme for each post tied into the written tale) who used to post my paintings along with my photography.)

Happy Spring to you and yours!

Thanks, GEL. The picture is blurry due to my using extreme zoom but it was amazing how camoflauged the heron was from the front. He looked just like any old stalk or barren bush trunk.

Thanks for dropping by and getting your blog underway again.
