funny look from a pigeon
UPDATE: Several people have suggested I stop calling this poor bird a pigeon. It's a Dove. Sorry, bird.
The picture above is a typical pigeon. They usually don't sup at my little bird restaurant but I suspect this meal had more to do with escaping the rain than eating a few seeds. Perhaps it was that spirit of independance that prompted this bird to give me the look below. Or maybe it's just a geeky pigeon.

Looks like a mourning dove. Nice pictures!
It's hard to find a dove in such a beautiful photograph, but I think you've captured it!! Loved the cardinal pict too. awesome!
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing! Michele sent me and I'm glad she did!
that's one pudgy dove - maybe she's got a cluster of eggs.
I love that bottom pic! It looks like it's just begging for someone to love it.

Beautiful pictures! The birdy looks tame!
and Hello, Michele sent me!
Pidgeon or Dove, they both annoyingly coo, and they both look the same when they get hit by a car *unintentionally of course*
Love your blog!!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I SERIOUSLY tell you to go visit those places... as a 4WD freak, i found them intriguing, exciting, adventourous, and most of all... AMAZING!! i believe in the Gawler Rangers just north of Wirrulla had some AMAZING rock formations, and the SkyTrek Tour just north of Wilpena Pound had the most awesome scenery and you could see for MILES!
Go your heart out!
i plan on revisiting your blog again!

I am digging the nature pics. Very cool! And it is indeed a morning dove. We have them by the ton in our back yard here - they have gotten to be almost as abnoxious as the pidgeons that accompany them. But they sound much prettier in the mornings than the pidgeons. LOL!
Hi from Michele.
FABULOUS pictures! I love that you were able to get so close...And yes, as many have said, this is a dove! Very very sweet this dove.
Here from Michele today!
I thought Dove comes in white.
It's a dove all right. But I think doves and pidgeons are closely related. I can't recall how but they sure do look similar. They don't have exactly the same call, though. We have doves that live in a nest off our front porch and they tend to be quiet coo-ers. And very gentile.
