Weird Plant

I have no idea what this is. I took the picture last Sunday and there were two of these plants with no identification of them nearby in the Garden. While the head reminds me of an avocado, these plants were over 4 feet tall and that yellow part up top is around 2 feet in height. Those bloody plants are HUGE!

Does anyone know what they are?

I have no idea what this plant would be..cept maybe a cousin to the Artichoke? I have never seen one! But,the photos on your blog are amazing!

You're right, Chad. It does look like that plant from the movie. Now it kinda scares me!

Have you seen Jumanji? It looks like the giant plant from the movie...the one that ate things, LOL. When it opens up, is there a pink inside? RUN!!!! LOL.

No, but they are COOL!!!

When I was trying to figure out what a tree was (I posted it after our trip to Florida) I went to a message board for the National Arbor Day Foundation and got the answer. You just post a photo, and SOMEONE knows!

Good luck! And thanks for stopping by...

Hi, Michele sent me again. That plant looks prehistoric. Beautiful really, but sounds big enough to eat a small pet.

I'd guess some kind of yucca but I bet Naomi (OOLOTH) knows. She's an expert on weird succulents.

It's awfully pretty tho, isn't it?

Reminds me of a ginger plant, something tropical.
