a green bug

I took this picture back in the summer. Today's unusual warmth--it made it up to 70f during the afternoon--reminded me of those warm humid days that seemed to last forever. While the sun went down early today, making sure I wouldn't forget what season it truly is, at least the temperatures reminded me of summer.

It was lovely yesterday with clouds and then clear skies. Then the sun went down and the temps fell and that north wind began to blow and blow. Finally around 2AM it was blowing at 25 mph with gusts to 45 and I saw Max sleeping out in that bluster on his mattress instead of in his protected and warm house. So I put him in with the cats. What a dunce!

I have a picture of a green beetle (probably a stinkbug) on the sand down at the beach. How and why it was there, I do not know. Love the katydid or perhaps it is a grasshopper nymph....wish I could remember my entomology.
